Artie: The Strongest Man... in the World

Work is slow right now; I caught my self browsing the web to pass some time. It is funny the thing that surface to the top of your brain. What bubbled up out of my head was a charter from The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Artie the strongest man in the world. I watched this clip the first time with the volume was turned down it still made me laugh. Toby Huss is too funny.

the beer I am

You Are Guinness

You know beer well, and you'll only drink the best beers in the world.
Watered down beers disgust you, as do the people who drink them.
When you drink, you tend to become a bit of a know it all - especially about subjects you don't know well.
But your friends tolerate your drunken ways, because you introduce them to the best beers around.

The funny thing is I never drink Guinness

music: The Band

There wasn’t a lot of work that went in to this post. Not like there is a lot of work that goes in to any of them. You could call Turkish Star Wars my opus as far as that goes. It is a cold overcast day and The Band just seams to work oh so well with that. I wish I could be listing to the album Big Pink next to the fire place while drinking Grand Marnier on the rock right now. The band is one of my favorite groups in my humble opinion you only really need the first two albums, music from big pink and The Band. The Basement Tapes with Bob Dylan and The Band is also very necessary great song and there is something wrong with you if you don’t dig the vibey garagey production values. There is a lot more I could say about The Band but this is a great jumping off point.

no news is good news

So all news has been deleted off my site for some strange reason you have to get “permission” to post news stories. It seams that the people who do all the work want more than writer’s credits. They actually want money for the work that They did.

cinema : Cemetry Man

One more addition to for Halloween I am posting the trailer for one of my favorite zombie movies of all time. Cemetery Man or Dellamorte Dellamore. It was directed by Michele Soavi. This is a NSFW(not safe for work) Trailer as it has some boobs and zombies. I really dig zombie flicks on the whole are my favorite in the horror genre so enjoy.

holiday: Halloween rants n’ sluts

Happy All Hallows Eve to all my pagan readers. To all my female readers who like to dress up like slutty nurse, witches, and Snow Whites. Give it up it is boring and most of you just look desperate for negative attention. I am sorry if your Daddy didn’t love you. I truly am. It is just sad to see some of you dressed like Tinkerbelle on her way to make shady internet porn produced by Karl Hungus. The Jim Gaffigan bit on Halloween says it much better than I ever could unfortunately no body has put it up on youtube or Google videos.

Let us remember what makes Halloween fun. It’s giving kids dressed up like monsters and super heroes more candy than they can eat in a month.

I totally stole this from the blog Post Secret. They clam to be the largest advertisement-free Blog on the web. I don’t know for sure but they are very big and totally add free. That gets big kudos in my book. Damn the man!

movie: Turkish Star Wars or The man who saved the world

Turkish Star wars is not Turkish Star wars. The real title of the movie is The man who saved the world. It gets the nickname Turkish Star Wars because it takes clips from Star Wars and uses them in the movie. The movie also uses music from the movie Indiana Jones and stock footage of NASA rocket launches. It was originally released in 1982 and has amassed a huge underground following complete with a myspace fan page. Due to the cheesy effects and almost impossible to follow plot line. There is a lot of talk about the effects the clips from star wars. One thing that really struck me was the influence of Hong Kong action cinema. The kung fu fighting style camera angles and movements i.e. the jumps, rolls, and summersaults. For me that was a big bonus.

In 2006 Turkish Star Wars 2 or, The son of the man who saved the world was released this did not contain any clips from George Lucas Star Wars. You are guaranteed plenty of cheep special effects and true B grade movie making.

In America the B movie has gone the way of the Dodo bird. Not to say We don’t put of plenty of crap. You just don’t find Ed Wood quality crap that I enjoy.

[note] I used wikipida for the Ed Wood Jr. link. I told my self I would never use wikipida for a source because as general rule I think it is weak, lame, useless, and inaccurate. I still feel that way. It did have the best page on Ed Wood Jr. I could fined. Some how to me that just seams fitting.

This clip contains every thing that makes this move so damn cool.

Here is the trailer for part 2.

Omodern is an interesting site with a large collection of Scandinavian bands from the 70’s. The page also has a section dedicate to the worst euro interior designs of 1974.
